Help! My Office Is Orange!
So after a long weekend with a sick puppy and moving offices I’m back here setting up my office. It’s great to be in a new space.
One problem though, I’m not thrilled with the color. Someone else picked it and painted it without any input, so basically I’ve got an office space where I’m supposed to be creative painted in a color that I find a little too dark and pumpkin for me.
The pic above shows the color. The flamey thing is something we used to have in our youth space, but it’s mine now (I created it). So it will probably stay hanging, but the orange…what should I do about the orange?
I have permission to redo it. I want to ASAP. I just thought it would be fun to get everyone’s input.
Keep in mind I run the media and music department from this office. I’m not the administrative type. I do ALL of the web/graphic design out of this office, so I’m definitely looking for a creative space. Something other than a solid color.
Okay, let the torrential downpour of creative ideas begin. Suggestions?

i love it….it’s the exact i want my office to be…but like i have no input in the color of my office.

Well it does go well with the flame thing…haha. I would suggest you do a color/pattern that makes you feel relaxed and creative. For me that would be a subdued blue with some artsy accents.

I feel for you. We’re moving into new (to us) offices next week that are all golden yellow. I’m leaning toward going more modern/stainless steel/blue. Or maybe a texture-y neutral that I can accent with different colors depending on my mood. Our cabinets are cream colored, so that will help cut down the yellow. Maybe I’ll be inspired by some of your commenters here! Keep us posted on the transformation.

well, I hate to say I love the color:), but I think that it is way way too much for that space….. it would be awesome if you took a charcoal/dark ash color and painted over it leaving a 12″ stripe of the orange about a foot down from the ceiling……. and possibly get some great lighting to help the room not feel so dark, maybe some uplights…. don’t know if you have budget, but I think you could really get a great feel for the room with the dark “cave” color and still maintain that orange that looks like it is outside your office as well….

Dude…I work in a garage!!!!! Ok so enough crying about my big roll up door office space. I like orange. That is alot of orange though. I might would use more blue to help tone it down. Wow, I have never heard of the whole color test…If you guys had gone as a staff you may have a rainbow. At least you could’ve looked for a pot of gold
