Sunday Setlist [9.07.08]

Had a great day yesterday.

5 year anniversary celebration.

It rocked.

We shared our next 5 year vision.

Celebrated the previous 5 years.

We celebrated our 100th baptism yesterday. It was a 6th grader who has been attending House of Joy since the beginning (with her family).

We hit an attendance high mark.

We had a great time of celebration.

Setlist:

  1. Shackles (Mary Mary): Walk-in. Key of Em. We pwn this song. We do it in kind of a funk-driven, Maroon 5 (this love) groove.
  2. Today Is The Day (Lincoln Brewster): Key of Bb. Second time we’ve done this one. It’s fun. Church loves it. We do the recorded arrangement (sans solo shredding).
  3. Say So (Israel Houghton/Michael Gungor): Key of E. Pretty muh stick to the recorded arrangement. We let our female vocalist lead this. Works because Israel sings stuff so high. So the ladies are singing in their naural power range, not falsetto. Church loved it (first time doing this one).
  4. Jesus Is The Best Thing (Martha Munizzi): Key of D. Fun, easy, repetitive. Added rap part in the middle, big fun. There’s a radio edit and a full 8 minute version which has a rap in the middle. I always surprise our guests when I start rapping. Whoah…white worship leader’s got rhymes?
  5. Shackles (Mary Mary): Walk-out Key of Em. We pwn this song. We do it in kind of a funk-driven, Maroon 5 (this love) groove.
