With the surprising and disturbing news of Mike Guglielmucci (google it if you haven’t heard), I wanted to take some time, not to share my shock or outrage. Not even to play it up or play it down, but to share this:

Isaiah 40

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Psalm 147

3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

God does indeed heal. A lot of times we think of healing only in terms that we can grasp, the physical. But God heals so much more than just our bodies. He has provided a way to bring wholeness and health to our spirits. Jesus.

Mankind, at one point or another, is going to let us down. Doctors can’t cure everything. Sometimes we don’t understand why God doesn’t heal our bodies, but in the end the fact still reamins: God is THE HEALER. It is by Him and through him that all healing takes place. And the ultimate healing of our wayward spirits is what I’m so thankful for today.

Thank You, Jesus, for what You have done for us, Your tainted children.

When we were far from You, running away, yet stranded in our sin, You offered Healing.

Whether we receive it or not, You still reach for us.

When Your children harm each other, You are there offering Healing.

  2. Very cool and very much needed to be said Russ. The church is a hospital and not a museum. Thanks for your insight.
