This Sunday I sat back in awe as my team led 2 services almost flawlessly without me! I was so proud witness what many church ministries only talk about but never really capture: Leaders creating room for others to lead. In other words, working myself out of a job!

How beautiful it is when worship leaders train and equip others to lead.

How beautiful it is when worship leaders are not threatened by sharing the platform with others.

Our team rehearsed, set up, and performed without me. And like I said it was amazing! iTunes links included.

1) My Best Friend: Hillsong. Not one of our favorites as a team, but it is a great sing along.

2) I Want the Joy: Rita Springer: Personally, not one of my favorites at all, but again a good repetitive song that works well overall.

3) Jesus is the Best Thing: Martha Munizzi. Great song with great groove. Fun to play and sing, but try no to do it with other Israel or Martha songs because our people don’t know when or where to clap. It’s one of those kind of dance hall reggae sounding beats.

This week’s recap of songs is posted in collaboration with other worship leaders on the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival at www.fredmckinnon.com

@fred: Yeah, great response for the first one out!

@gary: true! It’s been my heart from day one, and also a big part of the leadership culture here. We’re always training people to DO what we do!
