Do not delete your old blog.
You might take a hit on the Google juice with your older posts, but leaving your old blog as is to simply sit should not affect the Google juice of your new posts on this blog.
I made the mistake of deleting my old blogspot blog and the domain got taken over by a spammer. (billy1979 if you want to check it out) They even straight up plagiarized some of my old posts to make it look like my blog. I emailed Google but they won’t shut down the site or give me my old address back.
