New Blog

As most of you can tell, I’m working on this new blog set up. I’m getting my feet “re-wet” with WordPress again. Haven’t used it in several years (personally). I’ve really missed it.

With a new job and putting my wife through grad school funds have been a little limited in the “personal web site” department so I just hopped on blogger.

Twitter

Anyways, I’ve been using twitter for months now. It’s funny how that works. I’ll come across a cool little tech/web gadget/widget of some sort and try and use it and nobody’s really on board, and then some crazy bald worship leader from Buckhead suggests it and the it blows up. Props to Los.

But now that my twitter friends have literally exploded all around me it’s been a great tool to network. I’m connected with a lot of great designers and artists over in the Church Marketing Sucks Lab (flickr.com) and we shoot links to current projects for critique and help. It works. It really works.

Some of my twitter friends: @fmckinnon, @chadmaag, @courtenay, @chris_baker, @bgsand. Head on over to twitter and join the fun if you haven’t already. I’m at twitter.com/russhutto

The Worship Community

I’m also a big fan of The Worship Community Forums. If you’re a worship leader, sound technician, lighting technician, audio/video technician, musician, pastor, worshiper, etc., this is a great place to network and build online community.

I’ve been thrilled to see the discussions/questions/tips/advice going on over there. In fact, I had a question about setting up a “live feed” for an over flow room with the potential of having live musicians play along with the feed - and I got a ton of helpful info in a few short hours.

What do YOU do for community/networking?
