Creative Chaos: Series Art

Creatie Chaos

My first entry in the Creative Chaos hooplah going on over at Ragamuffin Soul.

This is a piece I did that’s going out before Mother’s Day at a church in the ATL area. I’ve never met the pastor or anyone in the congregation, but connected through my lead pastor and decided to do it as a labor of love for a church that is getting ready to “relaunch” their mission/vision. I really felt good about volunteering my work/time.

Wanted to play around with the idea of an old t.v., but didn’t want to rip-off the “Family Channel” - and so this is what I came up with (with BIG help from the folks over at the CMS flickr lab).

Family Series Art

This will be a hand distributed invite card that members will hand out to friends and family as an invite to Mother’s Day at this church, where they will also be doing Free Family Portraits.

We’ve done free family photos (8×10) for anybody that signs up at our church for the last few years and it’s a great drawing card.

We get a photographer (or 2) from our church to do the photos the morning of (on a very quick schedule), and then have them ready in about 2 weeks. It’s been a great tool to use to meet new families in our area and several unchurched families always “stick” around as a result.
