Wrapping Up the Week

I’ll get back to the Tabernacle posts, next week, but I thought I’d just close down this week’s posts with a few personal items.

1) New Book: I just got a new book in the mail that I ordered back in August at the Willow Creek Leadership Summit I attended. It’s a book called…

Can’t wait to begin reading it next week. I’ll be implementing it into my newly scheduled hour set aside for reading/study each weekday morning.

2) Interestingly enough enough, there’s some major changes happening in my life right now that have to do with strengths and passions that I’ll be announcing later when the times is right.

3) At home, I’m continuing to read Jimmy Carter’s book…

It’s been really interesting so far. I love reading about where people come from and what shapes them.

4) My brother got married last weekend. Congrats! Gave my marriage a bit of a spark this week. I’m still kind of a newly wed (July last year) so being back around all the wedding stuff was fun. My wife and I were both in the wedding party. Oh, did I mention that my brother married my wife’s sister? Pretty cool. Our children will be double first cousins.

My wife’s grandparents are sibling husband/wife pairs too. Kind of neat what they had to say about their marriage and relationship for the past 40+ years.

5) I’m heading to our annual church planting conference next week (Monday-Friday). I went for the first time last year. Met a bunch of great people. Hope to have a great time this year, learning and meeting new faces.

OK, not sure when I’ll jump back on but I’m excited about our worship set this coming Sunday. I’l be on drums. I rarely play drums anymore because I’ve been working a new guy in the last few months! He’s coming along quite nicely! In fact, he showed great potential when we first started working together, and he’s really taken off! So, when he’s on drums I’m on either keys or acoustic guitar and vocals. So I really get to get in a different zone when I’m on drums.

We’re doing:

1) Everlasting God (a more rocked out Lincoln Brewster version)
2) Glorious (Martha Munizzi)
3) All About You (Hillsong)

We try and do a good mix of soulful and rock stuff in our sets. This will be a fun set.
