LOVE IN

At House Of Joy one of the values that we embrace is that developing healthy spiritual lives require that we are intentional toward community. Jesus modeled this concept with his disciples as he ministered to us here on Earth and the early church recognized the value of community as well. God gives us each other to give and receive ministry, to enjoy authentic relationships, and to do life together.

At House of Joy we have 4 basic kinds of groups for people to get to know one another and grow beyond our Sunday morning gathering.

Connection Groups

Connection groups are all about having fun together.  A connection group is an excellent way to meet new people and begin building lasting friendships.  It is a perfect first step in getting involved with our groups.  A great example of a connection group would be Kelly’s Connection Group which meets once a month to hang out and have fun!

Study Groups

Study groups focus on certain topics or themes to study together regularly.  These groups are discussion driven and are a great way to grow spiritually together.  Typically they meet once a week or twice a month and still include plenty of socializing and fun along the way!  An example of a Study group is our Breakaway Café which is a discussion based study designed for college and young career.

Recreation Groups

Recreation (or Rec) groups focus on a hobby or activity rather than a topic or theme.  Meeting times vary depending on the hobby or activity as well as any costs associated with it.  An example of a Recreation group is our Zumba Fitness group which meets twice a week to sweat it out together!

Class Groups

Class groups are designed to meet for a specific period of time and focus on a single topic or theme to study.  These groups have a specific beginning and end time and might include a little homework!  Two great examples of our Class groups are Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and Dr. Emerson Eggerich’s Love & Respect.
