Fashion Police
In today’s world of “image is everything,” so many people base their fashion- and their lives- on what they think others want to see. But so many in today’s world are fashion unconscious. Some are stuck in the 80s. Others overly accessorize to the point of being humorous. And still others seemingly don’t care at all what their fashion says about them.
In this new series we’re going to take a look at some of the crazy fashion statements that people make. And we’re going to ultimately see that for our fashion to really communicate anything at all, it must be first grounded in the Lord of all.
Seamless – April 4 (EASTER)
The Easter story is one of intrigue and inspiration. For those who follow Christ, it is the very foundation for their faith, the purpose behind their passion. And folded among the many accounts of that first Easter is an often overlooked single piece of cloth. In this message, kelly takes a closer look at that piece of woven fabric. And as he focuses in on the truth of its seamless makeup, we discover how the perfection of Christ is the one thing that can help each of us live a truly seamless life.
Wardrobe Malfunction – April 11
In the Garden, Adam and Eve experienced a major wardrobe malfunction. Yet, God provided a perfect plan to cover them. Today, the same things continue in the lives of so many people. But even as we put on God’s perfect outfit, we often fail to experience the complete coverage that it can provide. In this message, Kelly shows us that many of our attempts at wearing Christ don’t follow God’s original design. And we see just what it takes to stop the malfunctions and instead discover the power and purpose of wearing Christ the right way.
Fashion Forward – April 18
Everyone, no matter their style, has those foundational pieces of clothing from which every fashion statement is based. In this unique look at the fashion of a Christian, Kelly teaches us what it means to start our wardrobe with the clothing of baptism. And we see that by making that initial statement of faith, repentance and obedience, we are truly moving our fashion forward.
Completion Problem – April 25
One of the basic rules of fashion is to wear an entire outfit. If you don’t, then you have a completion problem. In other words, something is missing. The same thing applies to the fashion God wants us to display. If we don’t put on the entire outfit of a Christ follower, something will be missing from our lives. In this message, Kelly teaches us how to avoid having a completion problem in our lives and instead experience the benefits of wearing the entire wardrobe God has for us.
Completion Problem Solved – May 2
God has designed the perfect outfit for each of us to get the most out of life. For that wardrobe to help us, though, we must put on every piece. If not, we’ll be incomplete. In this message, Kelly continues his look at the perfect wardrobe God has given us in Ephesians 6. And he explains how wearing the final three pieces will allow us to solve the completion problem.
