Who We Are
House of Joy opened it’s doors in 2003 and has grown from just a handful to hundreds of family and friends. God has been faithful throughout the years and we have seen lives changed, broken families restored, individuals growing in Christ, and we have many exciting stories to share!
We meet inside Ashely Cinemas, which is a very exciting venue to hold our morning gatherings. House of Joy is a church that welcomes those who have, over the years, been discarded and disillusioned by hurtful experiences in and through church. We know that many people don’t have a problem with God, but in many cases people have been hurt in some way through church.
One of our primary missions is to connect with people who are not in church. This is one of the reasons that we may look different from many other churches in Valdosta.
Our heart, as a church, is to be a place where people are accepted and feel welcomed from the moment they drive into our parking lot, throughout the service, and even all throughout the week.
In 2008, we celebrated our 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We were so thrilled to baptize our 100th person, who just happened to be a young girl who has been at House of Joy from almost day 1!
House of Joy is a place where people matter. We strive to challenge and equip folks to live day in and day out in an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. Review our ESSENTIAL CORE BELIEFS HERE.
At House of Joy we are normal, imperfect people who recognize that God is the answer for ALL of life’s questions, and that seeking Him first is of utmost importance in everything we do.
